Provincial Pay Equity
The Pay Equity Act has been in place in Quebec since 1996 and applies to organizations with 10 or more employees. This Act aims to correct, where applicable, wage gaps due to systemic gender-based discrimination against incumbents of traditionally female jobs (predominantly female job classes).
As of April 2019, the requirements of Quebec’s Pay Equity Act have been significantly amended. These amendments are particularly (but not strictly) aimed at businesses in their pay equity audit phase.
Our experience in pay equity is extensive and ranges from unionized to non-unionized workplaces of all sizes and sectors of activity.
